I recite poetry
as your fingers
dance in slow
graceful movements
across the harp strings,
a twang within my heart,
making my soul vibrate,
each cord breathing life
into my words,
a ghostly melody
before a burning fire,
which adds its own voice
in whispered undertones,
the wind bleeds through
seeking entry
like death at the door
wanting shelter from
the storm,
the night has been long,
as the world rages on
but Hestia watches
from the shadows
of her firelight,
blushing at our
musical caresses
and lyrical kisses.
We danced in moonlight
beneath a November rain
your winter eyes shine bright
Upon your lips my heart takes flight
I only want you to hold me again
we danced in moonlight
We have shadows still to fight
my sorrows lie at your feet slain
your winter eyes shine bright
Your meerest touch holds me tight
our fingers weave an unbreakable chain
we danced in moonlight.
As dawn breaks you fade from sight
lost memories I struggle to regain
your winter eyes shine bright
Please don't whisper Goodnight
dreams vanishing on a passing train
we danced in moonlight
your winter eyes shine bright

If Death Would Bring Me To You
I felt the fingers of death
around my throat,
cold and rigid,
unrelenting,
while I stare into
the voidless eyes
I wonder if I am
dreaming.
If I took my last breath,
would I find you
waiting upon the
otherside?
If I could summon
your forth
like a specter,
without hesitation
I would spill the blood
on the edge of the
underworld
and wait for you to come.
If the hands of the dead
ripped me away
from the world
would you come like
Orpheus with
your lyre to enchant
the gods and sing
me home again?
My ear pressed
to your chest
I listen to the sound
of your heart beat,
the dull thud
of galloping horses
from a time far away
we once belonged to.
This is the rare hour
when all truth must
be spoken unapologetically,
my lips speak into your
flesh.
"I am a weak woman"
It is a secret buried
in the deepest depths,
trembling forth
you feel the vibrations
rippling across your skin.
You smile,
without condescension
or imprudence
your words whisper
into my hair.
"You are a strong woman"
On this hour of truth,
there can be no
false flattery or
indulgences.
your words
must be a true
as mine.
I feel as if I would
die without you,
I see the shadows
in your eyes like
fleeting ghosts,
it is enough to break
my heart, I touch
your face with trembling
fingers.
Your lips sultry,
yet firm, begging
without a word
while affecting indifference
which is irresistible,
leaving me hungering
for a lingering
taste.
You are roughened
to the touch,
as sandpaper smoothing
my hardened edges,
and breathtakingly
tender so you must
kiss away my tears
of pure euphoria.
I feel your heart
beneath my fingertips,
at moments hard as stone
with unwavering determination.
refusing to be moved,
fluid like water,
shifting with my tides,
submerging but
inpenetrateable.
Marked by both
You wove Forget-me-nots
in my hair, each one
a promise offered,
like the dandelion kisses
you place behind my ear,
wild and full of wishes.
Your fingers the velveteen
touch of rose petals upon
my skin awakens my senses,
each of your words adds
another link to the daisy
chains you bind around my
heart.
I see the hyacinth
in your eyes,
brimming with sorrow
and joy for a love
that once died
but now blooms
eternal.
I want to curl up inside of you,
live in the space between your rib cage,
listen to the ebb and flow of your blood tides,
like a lullaby from ancient times.
I want to forget this world entirely,
you will be the earth
and I will be the moon
let your arms eclipse me completely.
I want you to be my island
as yet undiscovered,
to be an Atlantis, beyond all human reach,
let us vanish together somewhere,
fading into the mists of Avalon.
I wish I could sink myself into you,
close my eyes and know nothing,
but the way you smell,
your taste upon my lips,
the feel of you under my hands.
You shall be my death,

I become lost among my rocks
breaking upon the jagged edges of my mind,
there is no where left to go
but to curl myself inside of you,
my harbor to weather all storms.
The moments which make me
want to leap from high peaks
and throw myself into unforgiving winds,
your wings are strong and beat back
the darkness rising.
These are the moments
that I want nothing more than
to let you carry me,
I close my eyes and cling to you.
You will navigate the turbulence
of my soul, circumventing the
bordering chaos that seeks to
swallow everything.
I land safely in the calmer waters
where you deliver me to become
my life raft and we float upo
I remember when the sky was orange
because we decided to paint our own world,
I wanted to live in a Pollock dream,
close my eyes and empty my mind
throw the colors into the air to land
where they will.
There were streaks of green in your hair,
red ran down your spine and when you touched
me you left streaks of yellow behind,
we dance within Van Gogh's cafe under a haze
of vague purple stars of which I insisted upon.
We can hear the music of Gypsies play
and I am brought into the shade of more
somber umbers for the melody brings me into
the mind of Whistler. But then your eyes
remind me of Aviazovsky and strangely

Simple Moments of Intimacy
I watch you drinking coffee
your eyes stare into mine over the rim,
everything is conveyed in that half-gaze,
my spine quivers like a bow string,
my heart turns over and my body
comes alive.
I sit in taut awareness,
the distance between us
is painfully near, yet unbearably vast,
you command me with silence,
the slow, subtle way your lips
curl up pulls the core of my being
towards you.
My fingers hover inches
from your hand,
half-afraid of the electric jolt
of your touch that will send
all my nerve endings on edge,
yet wanting nothing more
than the feel of your skin.
It is a dance of wills,
without speaking we know we both
desire
